Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, was recently invited to visit Grappenhall Heys Primary School.
During the visit Faisal spoke to the school’s Year 5 pupils about his work in Westminster and took part in a lively question and answer session.
He was also given a guided tour of the school’s newly redeveloped library which was delivered following a huge amount of work and fundraising from staff, governors, parents and friends of the school. Having played an integral role in the planning of the redevelopment, the school council were asked to give Faisal the tour.
Faisal was later invited to join pupils for the whole school assembly.
Faisal Rashid MP said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Grappenhall Heys Primary School. It was great to visit the school’s brand new library and thanks to the School Council for giving me such an informative guided tour.
“The fantastic new library would not have been possible without the hard work and determination of the school’s staff and governors, parents and friends of the school and of course the School Council. The library will go on to benefit future generations of pupils at the school and everyone involved should be very proud of their efforts.
“During my visit the pupils asked me many interesting questions about my work and about key political issues. It was great to meet so many engaged and knowledgeable young people who have a keen interest in politics. I look forward to visiting the school again in the future.”
