Faisal Rashid MP’s ‘Housing Summit 2019’ will be held on Thursday 25th April 2019, from 6.45pm – 8.15pm at Bold Street Methodist Church, Warrington, WA1 1JQ.
Across the country, we are facing a housing crisis that is hitting young people and families on low to middle incomes hardest. Many are struggling to afford to rent or to buy a decent home. This is leading to overcrowding, evictions, rent arrears and homelessness.
Nationally people are being let down in a number of ways and are facing:
- a lack of genuinely affordable homes
- growing homelessness and rough sleeping
- insufficient new homes and home-ownership
- lack of protection for those privately renting
- failure to tackle land-banking.
A decent home is not a privilege for the few but a right owed to all, regardless of income.
Join our panel of speakers – Sarah Jones MP, Shadow Housing Minister, representatives from Warrington Borough Council, social housing organisations and from the voluntary sector – for a discussion on some of Warrington South’s most pressing housing issues.
This is a free event. However, you will need to register and bring your registration acknowledgement email to enter. If you would like to ask a question during the Q&A session, submissions are welcome at the time of registration.
Please note that this event is open to Warrington South constituents only. Tickets will be registered on a first come, first serve basis.
