Local Government
I always wanted to make a difference in the local community and was passionate about improving lives and building a stronger and more cohesive community where we all have acceptance, peace, love, and harmony devoid of prejudice about colour, race, and religion.
My passion for helping my local community led me to stand for a council seat in 2011 which was not a target seat and I worked very hard to prove myself, winning the Whittle Hall seat back for Labour after 8 years. After the boundary changes, the ward has been renamed Chapelford & Old Hall.

I have been involved in various initiatives and some of the achievements are listed below:
- Helped to set up Whittle Hall Resident Association
- Worked closely with Chapelford Residents Association
- First-ever outdoor gym installed in Warrington in Chapelford
- Christmas Tree installed
- Wildflower Initiative at roundabouts
- Warrington west train station
- Chapelford Health Centre
Our Wood
First ever outdoor gym installed at Our Woods. For new additions in Our Woods include a stepper, cross trainer, and bench press as the installation of promised outdoor gym equipment has finally been completed. Cllr Faisal Rashid has been working for months to get the project completed after seeing a similar idea while he was away in Turkey and believes it ‘ticks all the boxes.

Warrington West Train Station
During my time as a Chapelford and Old Hall ward councillor I campaigned for the station and since my election to Parliament, I have worked with the ward councillors to ensure the proposals are delivered. The station is a real asset to all residents of West Warrington. I am pleased to leave this everlasting legacy that I started campaigning in 2011.
Chapelford Health Centre
I visited the health centre on the first day of its opening. I am so proud and happy to see this major piece of community service has now been delivered. This is called working for the people and delivering for the people. Again, leaving a long-lasting legacy for which I campaigned since 2011.
Thank you to all the councillors, WBC staff, CCG, NHS England, NHS property services, Pharmacy, Chapelford resident’s association, contractors, and everyone involved to make this happen.
